When you visit Kvarøy, it's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy time outside in FREE nature

We have set up rules for the outdoors, so that all our guests can enjoy nature every time they return in the same way as when they were last here.

– Our rules of outdoor adventure –

LEAVE NO TRACE

Avoid leaving marks in nature such as cairns, tent rings and the like. Let those who come after you have as good an experience as you.

FOLLOW THE TRAIL AND AVOID CREATING NEW TRAILS

THROW YOUR WASTE IN THE BIN

If you are in an area where this is not available, you must take your waste to a suitable reception. In addition, we want everyone who has the opportunity to bring an extra bag of beach litter from their trip in our beautiful archipelago to do just that.

USE ESTABLISHED TOILETS

If that’s not possible, do yours in the sea, or dig a hole in the ground. Avoid using wet wipes due to their long decomposition time.

RESPECT PRIVATE PROPERTY

Here in Lurøy Municipality, all outlying land is privately owned, so all outdoor traffic takes place on a landowner’s land. Camping in the outback is not permitted closer than 150 meters from an inhabited house or cabin. Camping in inland areas is only permitted by agreement with the landowner.

SHOW CONSIDERATION IN TRAFFIC

The roads are narrow, and even though there are not many users, we would like to remind you to show consideration. Keep a good distance when overtaking cyclists, and pay particular attention to our small cyclists who are not so used to traffic.

RESTRICTIONS AGAINST LIGHTING A FIRE

During the summer months, there is a general ban on bonfires and the use of open fires. Use established campfire sites and make sure there is no risk of fire.

SHOW RESPECT FOR ANIMALS AND WILDLIFE

Avoid unnecessary disturbance for all animals and keep a reasonable distance. Remember to keep dogs on a leash, which is particularly important during the breeding season. Keep your distance from bird nests so that you don’t disturb incubating or vulnerable chickens nearby.
