The people behind it all
On Kvarøy in the middle of the shipping lane a stone’s throw from the Arctic Circle on the Helgeland coast, we are working to create a good destination for young and old.
We are cohabitants who work together, and have two children and two dogs together. We moved to Kvarøy in 2009 to try out island life for a year, but quickly realized that we would like to replace the traffic jams and morning rush with a 5-minute walk in peace and quiet, with good air that smells of the sea.
The family enjoys spending a lot of time outdoors, fishing, hunting, foraging, building fires and cooking together. We spend a lot of our time in the kitchen preparing what we’ve dived for or gathered from the shore in our local area.
We think it’s a bit of a coincidence that we work in tourism. But we’re passionate about being outdoors and using nature both as a pantry and as a playground. We are well acquainted with the area around us and love to share it with our guests who want to explore.
