Coast culture for Future Generations
Here are some conscious choices we make to work with the environment and sustainability in the local community:
-Because it’s good for the environment, we want it to be worthwhile for you to stay another night. That’s why we’ve reduced the price of night two, night three, night four, up to a whole week if you want!
-We work actively to create natural activities for you so that you can enjoy another day on Kvarøy.
-We support our local business community by purchasing goods and services from local suppliers. Through close cooperation, we influence our neighboring companies to carry goods with a smaller environmental footprint.
-We want to contribute to the protection of marine life by sharing information with guests on how to fish responsibly.
-We rent out bicycles and wheelbarrows to our guests to explore the area and reduce their carbon footprint when exploring Kvarøy.
-We recommend traveling with our collective coastal route network, namely the local and regional speedboats. And we are happy to provide you with local help to review your travel plan.
-We support local charities or good local ideas that support good travel in nature.

Our specific goals and measures for 2023
– We are currently working towards Eco-Lighthouse certification, and have set ourselves the goal of being fully certified in February 2023.
In collaboration with our local grocery store, we will find an eco-labeled hand soap and actively look for eco-labeled cleaning products to replace at least two products in 2023.
-“We want our guests to have access to sorting of as much waste as possible when they visit us. So we have set ourselves a goal of increasing the sorting rate by 10% in the coming years.
-We have a goal of improving our own health and a better physical working day. That’s why all employees have one hour a week for physical activity during working hours for their own physical activity.
-We support sustainable fishing by providing our guests with knowledge about species fishing, i.e. fishing one of each species instead of fishing many of just one type. In order to promote this type of fishing, we will create information material for our guests that covers minimum sizes, protected species, the lifestyle of fishable species, what they eat and what you can lure them with.
We have created an environmental symbol to highlight some of our activities because it is a trip that has minimal impact on the environment and the nature you love to travel in.
To highlight good activities with consideration for our surroundings, and to show that we think a lot about reducing emissions when we use nature so that it will be preserved for future generations.
Results 2023
Here we continuously post the goals we have achieved so far
-We have made it easier for our guests to sort waste by introducing a waste sorting routine in our guest binder. And we’ve increased the sorting rate by adding a separate container for paper, cardboard and cardboard on site with us.
-To reduce waste, we have a selection of reusable cups and saucers that you can take on a trip in our sea houses.
